Quality, Local and Specialty Foods
The Food & Drink Growth Project
The Food & Drink Growth Project aims to stimulate and develop the higher value sub-sectors of the region’s food and drink economy, whilst ensuring a safe and sustainable environment in which to grow.
The project is being managed by Food NW and delivered with seven partners; Chester University, Cumbria Chamber of Commerce, Cumbria Rural Enterprise Agency (CREA), Enterprise4All, Manchester Metropolitan University, Myerscough College, and Reaseheath College.
The activity targets key sectors and addresses issues affecting SMEs in the Northwest including;
- Providing specialist technical support to food and drink SMEs.
- Support for regional and speciality food and drink producers in the Northwest.
- Providing SMEs with business resilience tools to risk assess critical aspects of their businesses above and beyond the legal requirements, and develop action plans for success.
- Providing support to enable the region’s producers to take advantage of the organic/ethnic high growth sectors.
This activity is part funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF)
