This award will recognise a small or medium size food and drink company that is demonstrating excellence in developing its business. The winning company will be actively seeking out opportunities for new products and/or markets and have a clear future plan for growth of the business.

Recognising excellence in innovative business practice or product innovation. This could be a large or small company that has implemented changes impacting on their efficiency or a manufacturer who has developed a new or existing food and drink product.

Highly Commended - Port of Lancaster Smokehouse
The UKTI Award for International Trade
Recognising the most outstanding international trading achievement of a Northwest food & drink business. This will be awarded to a company new to export or an experienced exporter who has significantly developed their business in new markets.

The MIDAS Award for Supply Chain Solutions
Awarded to a company who has demonstrated innovative and sustainable initiatives, resulting in cost efficiencies or streamlining the food and drink supply chain on a regional or national level.

Environments for Sustainability
The Learning & Skills Council Award for Skills
Recognising the company that has implemented an innovative skills training programme to improve their overall business or a training programme that promotes the food & drink industry as an excellent career choice.
Winner - Gibson's Foods
The Barclays Commercial Environmental Award
Presented to an organisation that have demonstrated best practice methods to reduce environmental impact, introduced environmental initiatives to become more resource efficient or developed a product which promotes the environmental agenda.

The Food Northwest Award for the Healthy Eating Agenda
Recognising the company or individual in the food & drink industry who has either; improved access to healthy foods, reformulated a product to improve its nutritional profile or improved consumer education on healthy eating.
Winner - Wirral Univeristy Teaching Hospital NHS Trust
The Northwest Organic Centre Award for Sustainable Farming & Food
Awarded to the company or individual who has developed sustainable initiatives in farming and rural food. This could be introducing new working processes, developing or reformulating a product or establishing best practice methods in organic farming.

Dynamic Northwest
The Leapfrog Award for Raising the Image of the Food & Drink Industry
We are looking for the Northwest company or individual who has raised the image of the region’s food & drink industry. This may be through the championing of local produce, brands and businesses, encouraging and retaining inward investment into industry in the region, or promoting the region as a centre of quality to work in and enjoy food & drink.

The DWF Award for Most Outstanding Contribution within the Northwest
This special award for the individual or organization from the food & drink industry that has made the most outstanding contribution to the sector, within the Northwest region as a whole.
Winner - John Geldard & Plumgarths
The IGD Learning Prize for the Northwest Food Industry Rising Star
Presented to an individual who has demonstrated how learning and skills are contributing to the success of their own organization, their sector, or the food & drink industry.
