A Picton & Sons Highfield Farmshop

Food NW Gold Heart Award winner 2011 – Dried Cured Bacon

Food NW Heart Award winner – T Bone Steak

Highfield Farmshop in Warrington is celebrating success after scooping a Food NW Gold Heart Award for its Dried Cured Bacon.

It has also won a Food NW Heart Award for its T Bone Steak. The Winwick based shop was opened in 2008 to sell the farm’s (A Picton & Sons) home reared beef, lamb and pork, plus potatoes and locally grown vegetables.

Reared naturally on homemade feed and grass, the farm’s livestock, (all of which have names), are raised to the highest standards and are slaughtered locally. The business is currently looking at plans to extend the farm shop in the next year.

Using a secret cure recipe, the award-winning Dried Cure Bacon is the shop’s best selling product.

Deryck Picton said: “Winning this award is a great opportunity for us to talk about our fantastic products and to recognise the team’s hard work. We are delighted.”
