Hospital Food Project Officer – Heart of Mersey
Fixed Term – 12 months
37.5 hours per week
Salary, NHS band 5: £19,683 – £25,424
Heart of Mersey is England’s largest and most comprehensive cardiovascular disease prevention programme, having developed from international successes in North Karelia, Finland, and elsewhere. Funded primarily by the local primary care trusts, and working with the health partnerships, Heart of Mersey is seeking to make healthier lifestyle choices the easier choices for the two million population of Greater Merseyside.
We are looking for an outstanding individual to work alongside the Hospital Project Manager in managing the Cheshire and Merseyside Hospital Food Project, a practical pilot project which will aim to work with hospitals in the area to increase the amount of healthy and local food being served within the routine catering system of the hospitals. The post holder will take a lead responsibility for this key strand of Heart of Mersey’s food and health programme and service the working party of the hospital food project.
We are seeking someone who will be able to manage and prioritise a diverse workload, be able to work under pressure and work to deadlines. In addition to being highly organised and able to work on their own initiative, we will be seeking a project officer with:

A relevant degree or equivalent

A commitment to the public health nutrition agenda

Experience in project management
-
Excellent oral and written communication skills

The capacity to build good relationships with a variety of people and organisations

A talent for tackling problems and providing creative solutions
Heart of Mersey is a registered charity (no. 1110067) but staff contracts are hosted by Sefton PCT. This post is offered on fixed term basis with Sefton PCT for a period of 12 months.
