Greater Manchester Food Partners Events

DIARY DATE: Greater Manchester Food Partners Event - Lancashire County Cricket Club, 22 October 2008

DIARY DATE: Cheshire and Merseyside Food Partners Event - Halliwell Jones Stadium, Warrington, 6 November 2008

Have you ever wondered who does what in the area of food and health locally? What role does the PCT have, what about Trading Standards and Environmental Health, and who else has a role to play?

As the focus on eating for health and safe food increases, this is an opportunity for you to meet colleagues in your area who are involved in food and healthy eating, to find out the priorities and roles of partner organisations so that we can explore opportunities to work together at local level.

These build on similar successful events we have recently held in Cumbria and Lancashire. Each event will start around 9:30am and finish around 4.30 pm. Lunch will be provided and there is no charge for these events, which are being run by the Food Standards Agency's North West office in conjunction with local partners.

The day will start with presentations from main partners and will set the scene for the rest of the day. There will be a focus on inspiring case studies from across the north west region which will give examples of how partnership working can really add value to local food projects in a wide range of different settings. There will also be opportunity to get to know colleagues from other organisations in your local area a little better through workshop sessions, where you can explore what is already happening on the ground and think about what work could be taken forward for the future.
