Innovation Opportunities for Food & Drink Businesses

This event will enable attendees to gain knowledge on a variety of schemes and initiatives that will promote innovation within their companies/organisations. A wide range of options will be covered, including Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTP's) and the recently launched Innovation Voucher Scheme.

- HEI Engagement – Nick Hamlett from Goodlife Foods Limited, Andrew Plunkett from Manchester Metropolitan University and Hossam Ismail from the Agility Centre outline two recent projects addressing the reduction and disposal of waste and the reduction in downtime of plant production.
- Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTP) – Nick Hamlett from Goodlife Foods Limited and Andrew Plunkett from Manchester Metropolitan University present on their successful KTP.

14.30 Accessing Funds for R&D and Innovation
- The Innovation Voucher Scheme - Sheila Deighton from NWDA introduces the Innovation Vouchers Scheme through which SMEs can apply for £3000 grants to interact with a knowledge provider.
- GRAND – Chris Greenhalgh from NWDA introduces the Grants for Research And Development (GRAND) scheme. Grants range from £20,000 to £500,000.

- The Enterprise Europe Network (EEN) – Marie Kerkhof from the EEN introduces European Opportunities.

The Agility Centre is located in the Management School on the University of Liverpool Campus:

University of Liverpool Management School , Chatham Building, Chatham Street, Liverpool L69 7ZH.
The Campus is just a ten-minute walk away from the nearest mainline station at Liverpool Lime Street. Take the main exit and turn left into Lime Street. Then turn left again at the Britannia Adelphi Hotel and continue up Brownlow Hill towards the Metropolitan Catholic Cathedral and Red Brick Building with its clock tower.
For those driving, parking is available in the designated visitor parking areas marked out on the campus map: http://www.liv.ac.uk/maps/campus-map-university-liverpool.pdf .
The nearest parking is on Mulberry Street.
