UKCP09 North West Climate Projections in Practice Week

5 October — 9 October 2009

Climate change is the greatest environmental issue we face today. Whilst we must continue to reduce our emissions, due to past emissions, we must also prepare to adapt to the impacts from unavoidable changes in our climate.

UK Climate Projections (UKCP09) was launched by Environment Secretary, Hilary Benn in June 2009. As part of a national programme of awareness-raising on UKCP09, the North West Climate Change Partnership would like you to invite you to a series of events aimed at helping you get the most from the use of the UKCP 09 data base.

In addition to the data base training sessions, the North West Projections in Practice week will commence with an opening event which will cover the international, national and regional climate change policy issues and actions and case studies on the use of climate projections data.

All Projections in Practice week events are free .

All venues are in Preston, close to the mainline railway station.
