Official Launch of Campaign for the Farmed Environment
6th November 2009
Farming and conservation groups officially joined forces with the government this week in a groundbreaking voluntary agreement to enhance the nation’s countryside. The Campaign for the Farmed Environment was launched at NFU President Peter Kendall’s farm in Bedfordshire yesterday, and aims to recapture the environmental benefits of set-aside without mandatory regulation. Peter Kendall called for a ‘culture change’ to meet the challenge of ‘the most ambitious campaign farming has ever faced.’ Watch the newsletter for how the campaign will work in the North West, and see the new website at www.cfeonline.org.uk .
