Are You The Face Of British Food Fortnight?

British Food Fortnight

Do you have a face that epitomises all that is best about this country’s delicious food and wonderful farming industry? A face that conveys the characteristics of which we are proud - wholesomeness, hard work, integrity, a sense of tradition, healthiness and a bright future.

The organisers of British Food Fortnight have teamed up with Farmers Weekly magazine to find a 'face' to front this year's British Food Fortnight.

The winning person's face will feature on the tens of thousands of ‘Love British Food’ posters that are displayed in shops, pubs, restaurants and schools during the national food promotion

If you think you or a friend has that face, we would like to see a photo. You may be a ruddy-cheeked, 60-year-old farmer with sideburns; a 21-year-old fresh faced agricultural college student; a farmer's wife; or a teenager, passionate about forging a career in the countryside.  If you think you have the face to front this campaign, the organisers would like you to get in touch.

A rather special judge will be helping to pick a winner from the shortlist - PR guru Max Clifford!  The agent-to-the-stars is a big supporter of British food and farming and will be giving the benefit of his huge public relations experience to select the face that is right for British Food Fortnight.

The winner will be 'unveiled' at British Food Fortnight's launch event in central London on 22nd April in the presence of the BBC’s Hairy Biker chefs and a V.V.I.P.  They will receive a £300 Great Inns Gift Voucher, allowing them to stay in any of the 22 independently owned, historic Great Inns across the UK and sample award winning menus, using the freshest, regional produce and locally sourced ingredients.

Alexia Robinson, organiser of British Food Fortnight, says: “The best people to promote British food are those who produce it.  Most advertising campaigns have a ‘face’ to front them whether it is Cheryl Cole promoting L’Oreal or David Beckham promoting Gillette.  So far British food doesn’t have a ‘face’ and we want to change that.  We are looking for someone with the glow of the countryside on their cheeks, mud under their nails and a smile that comes from satisfaction of a job well done; someone who makes us feel proud of the food Britain produces and will encourage people to make a bigger effort to buy it.”
