Chomp, Nibble And Munch Your Way Around Stockport!
Following the huge success of Stockport's first Food & Drink Festival last year, they've decided to do it all over again! The festival runs from Friday 3rd to Monday 13th October.
There are lots of gastronomic treats lined up, including a Gala Evening of Cheshire produce, traditional pie tasting, a twin town Master Chef competition, a scarecrow festival, wine tasting, beer sampling and a gourmet meal prepared by young chefs at Stockport College's L'Ecole Bistro.
The festival begins in true, local style with another popular Producers' Market in the town centre, historic Market and Underbanks area on Friday 3rd October.
A selection of stalls will feature fine regional produce from the best growers, suppliers and retailers in the North West. Look out for; fruit & vegetables, cheeses, breads, cooked meats & sausages, chutneys & pickles, cakes, chocolate, fruit juices and beer.
There'll be events to tickle your taste buds in restaurants, cafes, pubs, delis, shops, churches, heritage venues and parks. They promise you 10 fabulous days of foodie fun with special festival menus, Stockport dishes, themed trails and locally produced goods.
To coincide with the Life on Mars exhibition at Stockport Art Gallery, there will be a 70s themed event. So dig out those flares and get ready for a taste sensation - cheese & pineapple on sticks, with a glass of Babycham!
Councillor Kevin Hogg, Executive Member for Regeneration, said: “Make sure you get down to the Tourist Information Centre and pick up a brochure, or visit the website to find out what tasty event takes your fancy! There’s something for everyone throughout the 10 days, so make sure you join in the foodie fun.”
