Delamere Dairy to spread itself more widely

DELAMERE Dairy, a Cheshire-based producer of goats’ milk products such as butter and cheese, is hoping to spread itself more widely across Europe in 2010.

The business is eyeing up sales in Germany and Poland as well as a bigger share of the Italian market, to where it already exports.

Delamere, which is based in Knutsford, hopes to increase overall revenues from £15m in 2009 to £17m this year, Liz Sutton the dairy owner (alongside her husband) has said; she is aiming for growth in the UK as well as breaking into overseas markets.

Delamere, has 12 staff, supplies butter, cheese and yoghurts as well as milk to supermarkets including Asda, Morrisons and Booths.  The business, which received a £5m funding boost in 2008, caters for people with an intolerance to cows’ milk products and those with a passion for goats’ milk.
