Envirowise Event feedback

 

With input and support from Envirowise and the Manchester chamber of commerce, Food NW hosted a water solutions networking event on the 26th January.

There were 30 plus delegates from Food and Environmental backgrounds who gave Food NW some powerful and positive feedback. Everyone who attended on the day went away with something positive to take back to their organisation.

The Keynote speakers – from Warburton’s, Heinz, Niejhuis gave an insight into the key issues NW food companies should have on their commercial and environmental agendas including:-

“Having a strategy that includes getting staff on board is also vital if people are to take ownership – explaining the benefits and then benchmarking”

“Food & Drink manufacturing represents 24% of all UK water consumption!” 

“Global companies have a huge responsibility on water management” 

“Water usage is still there even if there is zero production”   

“Preventative maintenance can have a dramatic effect on water wastage” 

 

Envirowise – Ben Poole

The Water Technology List (WTL) compiled and approved by Envirowise can be used as the means to justify projects offset against Corporation Tax.
