Expansion, Expansion, Expansion!
Hawkshead Brewery has embarked on an ambitious expansion project. They are moving into the glass fronted building next door, to increase brewing capacity by 80%, and build a new bar and visitors’ centre.
The new building will bring even closer together the brewing and retail sides of the business, further to showcase real ale. A new fermentation room will be installed in full public view and a new brewery tap, over two floors, built around it. There will also be the long-planned specialist beer shop. The existing Beer Hall will remain as a function room.
The new 11,000 litre dual purpose vessels arrived from Moeschle in Germany on June 15th which were manoeuvred into place in the window by TEP Machinery Movements based in Leeds.
The new bar to be built around the tanks should be up and running in August. There should hopefully be plenty to see, at the Beer Festival.
