The Food Safety Act 2009 - A Guide For Food Businesses 2009 Edition

The Food Standards Agency has just published revised guidance for food businesses on the Food Safety Act 1990. The guidance is applicable to all types of food businesses in England, Wales and Scotland.

The guidance which replaces the former document, 'The Food Safety Act 1990 and You', has been updated to take account of amendments to the Act in the General Food Regulations 2004 and the Food Safety Act 1990 (Amendment) Regulations 2004.

The new guidance can be found at http://www.food.gov.uk/multimedia/pdfs/fsactguide.pdf

Food businesses can contact the local environmental health department at their local authority for further advice and information regarding food safety.
