Food NW FREE Environmental Workshop EventTuesday 15 November 2011 The Heath, Runcorn. WA7 4QX 9.30am – 4.15pm

The Northwest is the leading food manufacturing region in the UK, contributing nearly £3 billion to the region’s economy and employing over 56,000 staff in 1400 different workplaces. The region is responsible for 18% of all UK food and drink exports.

In supporting the sector, Food NW are delivering a FREE unique one day event to help businesses understand how to achieve lean efficiencies and realise cost and resource savings.

The event will provide an excellent opportunity to hear from The Co-operative Group's Sustainable Development Manager Chris Sherlock on his commitment to reducing carbon emissions and learn from best practice case studies where lean efficiencies have been implemented.

Furthermore practical support will be provided on a range of efficiency measures including;

  • process operational efficiency

  • energy consumption

  • water usage

  • waste production

  • material use

  • logistics

The event is aimed at delegates who have responsibility to identify and deliver improvement opportunities across their buildings.
