Food NW  are pleased to announce that in partnership with Chester University, Enterprise4All, Manchester Metropolitan University, Myerscough College, and Reaseheath College we holding our first NW Skills Day.

NW Skills Days offer an invaluable opportunity for SMEs to access a range of technical and leadership skills for their workforces in one central location, free of charge.*

Delegates can choose from a wide range of workshops, delivered by industry experts, attending one session in the morning and a second after lunch.

NW Skills Days are for SMEs from the food and drink industry and form part of the Food & Drink Growth Programme, part funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).

* Funding criteria means that places are subject to eligibility.

Food & Drink Growth Programme Events

In addition to the NW Skills Day event, Food NW are currently running a series of free skills workshops as part of the ERDF Food & Drink Growth Programme.

Identifying Operational Waste & Cost Reduction Techniques

The first event takes place on the 28th June and covers Identifying Operational Waste and Cost Reduction across the supply chain. The event aims to highlight the different types of product and process wastes showing how preventing them can significantly reduce your costs and improve your profit margin.

Improve your packaging and product design to reduce your carbon footprint and resource impact 

The second event on the 13th July is a half day workshop that similarly covers waste and environmental issues but this time focusing on the effects that packaging design can have on your bottom line and environmental impact.

Both events are free to attend and offer practical skills which will help businesses bottom line.

Speciality & Fine Food Fair is the UK’s leading trade event for showcasing artisan food and drink to trade buyers and is now firmly established as the place for delis, farm shops, independent retailers, restaurants, hotels, caterers and wholesalers to source fine food, meet suppliers, sample products and do serious business.
